Reports
- Chair: Briefly summarized our meeting at the Mannes College of Music, hosted by Ed Scarcelle in November.
- Vice-Chair: Future meeting venues were discussed. The Jazz Institute at Rutgers-Newark is a possibility this spring. The membership was asked to share ideas for meeting venues.
- Secretary/Treasurer: 38 of 101 members paid dues. We have a balance of $3580.55. When sending dues, please do not send cash. A discussion about ways to spend funds ensued. Travel grants for graduate students and people early in their careers was suggested. The possibility of hosting a chapter party at the national conference was also suggested. We were reminded that we could apply for chapter grants from national MLA for projects that would further the profession.
New Business

- Darwin Scott, Chair of NEMLA, stopped in and suggested a joint meeting of NEMLA, GNYMLA, and the NY-ONTMLA chapters in Williams College in fall 2008. We were reminded of the successful meeting at Connecticut College last year.
