The Joint Chapter Meeting between NEMLA and GNYC
The Joint Chapter Meeting between NEMLA and GNYC was held at Connecticut College, New London, Connecticuton Friday, March 23, 2007, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm.
Attendees: Mi-Hye Chyun, Judith Frangos, Bob George, Jane Gottlieb, Heidi Gottman, Peter Hirsch, Rebecca Koblick, Paula Matthews, Jack McCleland, Jane Nowakowski, Jennifer Oats, Michael Ochs, Carrie M. Radna, Harold Stern, Suki Sommer, Robert Terrio, Patricia Thomson.
The joint meeting was held at Connecticut College. It was attended by more than 60 members between the two chapters. The local arrangement did a wonderful job organizing it and it was enjoyed by all participants. A number of members expressed their interests to have more frequent joint meetings in the future.
Jane Gottlieb from Juilliard and Bob George from the Archive of Contemporary Music gave presentations representing the New York Chapter.
Addendum, 4/12/2007: Jack McCleland and Harold Stern from Brooklyn Public Library also gave presentations on the circulating orchestra parts collection at the Brooklyn Public Library, representing the New York Chapter, at the Joint Meeting at Connecticut College on March 23.
The business meeting of the GNYC chapter was held in the Greer Library at 1:00 pm. During the meeting, new chapter officers were elected to serve the 2007-2009 term:
- Chair: Jennifer Oates (Queens College)
- Vice-Chair: Rebecca Koblick (NYPL)
- Secretary/treasurer: Robert Terrio (Westminster Choir College)
