- P. Hirsch announced that the election of chapter officers for the 2007-2009 term will be held during the chapter’s spring meeting on March 23, 2007 in New London, Conn.
- J. Andrus, chair of the nominating committee, announced a slate of five candidates: Jennifer Oates and Barbara Walzer for Chair; Rebecca Koblick for Vice-chair; and Heidi Gottman and Robert Terrio for Secretary/Treasurer. Andrus encouraged the membership to nominate one more candidate for the vice-chair’s position.
- M. Chyun reported that ballots will be distributed to chapter members via e-mail. She requested that they be returned to her before the spring meeting. Members can also cast their vote during the spring meeting. However, only members whose current dues are paid will be eligible to vote. M. Chyun routed the membership list for members in attendance to check the status of dues. Anyone who is not sure if his/her dues were paid can contact M. Chyun for their current status. Since back dues are not collected, any member who would like to vote but has not paid the current year’s dues can send dues for 2006-2007 along with the ballot.
- P. Hirsch shared information on the spring joint meeting of the New England Chapter of MLA and GNYMLA in New London on Friday, March 23. He encouraged members to attend this special meeting as a number of interesting and noteworthy presentations are planned, including a concert. More detailed information on the meeting will be shared through the chapter’s electronic distribution list. It was also announced that the chapter will absorb the registration fee for anyone who attends the spring meeting.
- Suggestions for upcoming chapter meetings were briefly discussed.
- J. Shepard announced that Rutgers University’s earlier plan to renovate/expand the music library has been put on hold at the present time due to budget cuts.
